1. Who Can Use Acorn
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian is aware of your use of Acorn. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to use the service.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your password private. Don't share access with others or create accounts to evade a ban. If you think your account has been compromised, contact us immediately. One person, one account β unless we've explicitly allowed otherwise.
3. How We Expect You to Behave
Acorn is meant to feel like a warm, quiet place on the internet. When you're here:
- Treat other people the way you'd want to be treated.
- Be honest. Don't deceive, manipulate, or mislead others.
- Be patient. People are different. Bring grace to conversations.
- Take responsibility for your words. Think before you post.
4. What Is Not Allowed
The following are strictly prohibited on Acorn, in any channel, DM, or server:
- Harassment & abuse β targeting, threatening, or bullying any person.
- Hate speech β content that demeans people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics.
- Sexual content involving minors β any such content results in immediate, permanent removal and will be reported to the appropriate authorities. No exceptions.
- Doxxing β sharing someone's private personal information without their consent.
- Spam & scams β unsolicited bulk messages, phishing links, or impersonating other people or brands.
- Harmful content β content that encourages or glorifies self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
- Illegal activity β anything that violates local, national, or international law.
- Malicious software β distributing viruses, malware, or anything designed to compromise the security of Acorn or its users.
5. Your Content
You own the content you create and share on Acorn. By posting it, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display it to other users as part of delivering the service. We don't sell your content. We don't claim ownership of it. When you delete content, we delete it.
6. Acorn's Content
Acorn β its name, brand, design, and features β belongs to us. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or claim ownership of any part of it without explicit written permission.
7. Privacy
We collect only what's necessary to run the service: your username, a securely hashed password, your email address (for account recovery), and the messages and files you choose to share. We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not build profiles to sell to third parties.
8. Enforcement
We reserve the right to warn, suspend, or permanently ban any account that violates these Terms β at our discretion and without prior notice in serious cases. Violations involving minors or credible threats of violence will be escalated to the fullest extent possible. If you witness a violation, please report it so we can act.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. When we do, we'll notify you inside the app. Continuing to use Acorn after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you disagree with a change, you may delete your account at any time.
10. Disclaimer
Acorn is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it running well, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that every piece of user-generated content will be reviewed before it appears. We are not liable for content posted by other users.
